Joliet's Loves Truck Stop Being Built, 4-Month Road Closure Announced
Years ago, east-side of Joliet residents launched a GoFundMe to raise $60,000 to continue their lawsuit to stop the Loves project.

JOLIET — As part of the future Loves Truck Stop development, Joliet's extension of water mains and sanitary sewers will begin on Monday, according to Friday's press release from Joliet's director of media engagement and communications Rosemaria DiBenedetto.
In 2022, Joliet Patch reported that a small group of dedicated east-side neighbors who lived near former Joliet City Councilman Warren Dorris have been successful at stopping construction of the Loves Travel Center approved by the Joliet City Council in October 2018.
However, in 2024, Joliet Patch learned, the neighbors' effort to stop the Love's Truck Stop project finally lost in Will County's judicial system.
