Key Patrick Kane Witness No Longer Wants to Testify

College girlfriend of the accuser "no longer fully backs" her friend's version of events: Chicago Tribune.

Sources tell the Chicago Tribune that a key witness in the Patrick Kane rape investigation — a friend of the 21-year-old woman accusing him — does not want to testify. The friend was with the accuser the night of Aug. 1 and the morning of Aug. 2 in Hamburg, N.Y., at a bar and at Kane’s home.

Reports the Tribune:

Multiple sources told the Tribune that the female friend — a college classmate — no longer fully backs the accuser’s version of events and has expressed reluctance to testify. Without her corroboration, it would be harder for prosecutors to move the case forward, those sources said.

An attorney for the accuser’s friend could not be reached for comment.

District Attorney Frank Sedita III was asked about this report at his Friday morning press conference and declined to respond.
