Los Comales Customer Commits Felony Crime With Her Salsa: Joliet Police

Joliet police are out looking for Jennifer Casillas, who has a felony warrant out for her arrest on the charge of aggravated battery.

JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Police Department has filed felony charges against a customer who was patronizing the Los Comales Mexican restaurant at 510 Collins St. Detective Brad McKeon submitted the criminal complaint against Joliet citizen Jennifer Casillas, who is now charged with two counts of aggravated battery and two counts of battery.

The complaint said that on April 25, Casillas and the victim were in a public place, Los Comales, when Casillas sprayed the other woman in the eyes with salsa. Casillas will be 36 years old in July. She lives at the apartment units in the 1300 block of Sterling Avenue, which is the Ridgewood area of Joliet's older east side, according to her arrest warrant.

Will County Judge Tom Slazyk signed the warrant authorizing Joliet police to arrest Casillas.

The judge has ordered the Sterling Avenue renter to be held without release and brought before the Will County judicial system for a pretrial detention or conditions of release hearing.
