JOLIET — A 44-year-old Joliet woman now finds herself in the Will County Jail following her arrest inside the Louis Joliet Mall this week, in connection with a theft at a different business on Plainfield Road.

Joliet police spokesman Tizoc Landeros said that Jennifer M. Ross is now in county jail facing charges of obstructing justice, felony retail theft, theft of labor or services and also having an outstanding Kane County arrest warrant for violating her conditional release.

Late Tuesday afternoon, Joliet police responded to a business near the 2800 block of Plainfield Road after a woman receiving beauty care services left without paying.

The suspect in this theft also fit the description of the same female suspect from the 2800 block of Plainfield Road. Joliet's officers responded to the Louis Joliet Mall, where the mall security assisted them with locating the suspect, identified as Ross.

At the Joliet police station, Ross gave the officers a false name and refused to provide any truthful information about her identity, Landeros said.

The officers were able to identify Ross through her fingerprints. The officers learned that Ross had a reason why she was not providing her true identity. Ross had a valid Kane County arrest warrant for a conditional release violation on a previous case, Landeros said.
