Mayor D'Arcy Endorses Damon Zdunich For Joliet City Council Seat
Damon Zdunich is one of five candidates on the ballot, plus there are two write-ins, for three open Joliet City Council at large seats.

JOLIET — With the election less than two weeks away, Joliet Mayor Terry D'Arcy has made it official, he is urging the voters of Joliet to visit their respective voting booths April 1 and vote for Damon Zdunich, who is one of the Joliet City Council candidates on the ballot seeking an at-large seat.
The three open seats on the Council belong to incumbent Joe Clement, incumbent Jan Quillman and Cesar Guerrero, who is not seeking re-election, but is instead running for the position of Joliet Township Supervisor. Other candidates on the ballot are Juan Moreno and Glenda Wright McCullum. Jim Lanham and Larry Crawford have write-in campaigns underway.
This week's video clip posted on the Zdunich 4 Joliet Facebook Page contains video showing Joliet's mayor making his endorsement:

"Hi, I'm Terry D'Arcy. I'm endorsing Damon Zdunich for your City Council at-large that's coming up. Damon is a fourth generation Jolietan. He's a 28-year Navy veteran and he's an accountant, and he has a love for Joliet. He's a businessman. We need Damon Zdunich on our City Council.
"I endorse and I will vote for Damon Zdunich City Council at large."

According to the Damon Zdunich campaign website, "I am the 4th generation of my large Croatian family to call Joliet home. My mother and father’s families and their mother’s and father’s families fed, clothed, housed and educated their children on steel mill wages. I am fortunate, and blessed to learn from those unselfish immigrants the value of individual education and hard work; and collective social responsibility and community pride. I am a candidate for at-large Joliet City Council seat for three sound reasons: First, to add an expert in budgets, revenue, and finance to the city council. Second, to facilitate the growth and prosperity of our job-creating local business community. Third, to sensibly balance the interests of industrial development with the quality of life of Joliet residents."
In addition to obtaining the endorsement from Joliet's first-term mayor, Zdunich has received a political endorsement from the Joliet Police Department's Supervisors Association, which is led by president Matt Breen, a Joliet police sergeant.
