OBITUARY: Lindsey Marie Murphy

The 32-year-old Joliet native and Godley resident died suddenly and is being remembered for her colorful spirit and her amazing soul.

GODLEY, IL — Lindsey Marie Murphy, 32, of Godley died suddenly on Monday.

Born October 28, 1990, in Joliet, Lindsey graduated from Reed-Custer High School with the class of 2009 and also received her license in cosmetology. She previously worked for Sports Clips in Bradley and most recently managed Honey Cuts in Mokena.

Lindsey had a colorful spirit and an amazing soul. She would do anything for her two amazing children, Bradyn and Nevaeh. She was a remarkable mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, companion, aunt, cousin, and friend who loved fiercely, and whose spirit will never be forgotten.

Surviving are her father and step-mother, Paul and Julie Murphy of Joliet; mother, Liz Roy of Joliet; two beloved children, Bradyn Michael William Hartley and Nevaeh Margarett Hartley, both at home; fiancé, Cody Hartley of Godley; brother, Donald Lester (Jordan Williams) Murphy of Gooselake and their children, Donald Lester Murphy, Jr., and Remington Marie Murphy; maternal grandmother, Beverly May (Greg) Roy-Lloyd of Shadow Lakes; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Lester Allen Roy.

Visitation for Lindsey will be at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory, Braidwood, beginning at noon on Tuesday, December 27. Visitation will run until the time of funeral services at 5 p.m. Cremation rites will be accorded following services.
