Old Man Caught Stealing Tools From Menards: Cops
He made it out of the store but wasn't quick enough to get away, police said.

JOLIET, IL — An 82-year-old man got caught shoplifting tools from Menard on Thursday morning, police said.
Avery Fletcher stuffed seven different tools inside his jacket and slipped out of the West Jefferson Street home improvement store about 10 a.m., police said.
A loss prevention officer reportedly watched Fletcher’s filching over a video surveillance feed and went to confront him. Fletcher made it out to the parking and was standing by his pickup truck by the time the loss prevention officer caught up with him, police said.

The loss prevention officer escorted Fletcher back into the store and waited with him for the cops to arrive, police said.
Fletcher was booked into the Will County jail. He remained in custody Friday morning and was scheduled to appear in court later that day.
