Woman Intentionally Tripped Joliet Police Officer During Arrest: Cops
Officers located Armoni Strickland in the Sam's Club parking lot nearby.

JOLIET — A 24-year-old woman from Joliet, Armoni Strickland, is now being kept in the Will County Adult Detention Facility on charges of domestic battery, three counts of aggravated battery to a peace officer, aggravated assault to a peace officer and obstructing a peace officer.
The incident ended with Strickland's arrest over at the Sam's Club parking lot.
According to the police reports from agency spokesman Dwayne English, at 9:17 a.m. Monday, officers responded to an apartment in the 500 block of Bellarmine Drive West for a domestic disturbance.

During a disturbance in the apartment, Strickland grew angry and pushed a 16-year-old to the ground, police said. While both were on the ground, Strickland allegedly bit the boy on the upper body, according to English. The victim was able to escape and seek help.

When Strickland stopped running and faced an officer, she struck the officer in the face, before lunging at the officer, causing both to fall to the ground, police said

While being escorted to a police vehicle by an officer, police say they believe Strickland intentionally tripped the officer and caused them both to fall to the ground. Strickland was taken to the Joliet Police Department and then transferred to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
Jail logs indicate that Strickland was let out of the jail on Wednesday. She comes from the apartment units in the 500 block of Liberty Street.
