Shot In Head, Leg: Joliet Motorist Taken To Silver Cross Hospital, Joliet Police Looking For Gunman
As Joliet police officers investigated this shooting, notification was received from the Will County Sheriff's Office.

JOLIET, IL — An overnight shooting on the city's east side has left a 20-year-old Joliet motorist with a gunshot wound to his head and his leg, though Joliet police maintain the gunshots will not be life-threatening.
According to police spokesman Dwayne English, at 1:07 a.m. Sunday, his fellow officers responded to the 600 block of Garnsey Avenue for shots fired. Officers discovered spent shell casings in the street, and a nearby occupied residence was struck by gunfire.
No one in the home was injured.

However, English said that as the officers investigated the shooting, they were notified by the Will County Sheriff’s Office that a 20-year-old gunshot victim had arrived at a residence in the 500 block of Harwood Street in a vehicle. The victim was taken from that location to Silver Cross Hospital by the East Joliet Fire Protection District.
Officers responded to Silver Cross Hospital and learned that the gunshot victim was shot while driving in the area of Garnsey Avenue and Columbia Street by an unknown pedestrian. The victim sustained non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to his head and leg.

The victim’s vehicle was also struck by gunfire.
English pointed out how this case remains under active investigation.
