Shot Standing Outside Joliet House, Victim, 33, Taken To Silver Cross

JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Police Department announced that a 33-year-old man is recovering from his gunshot wounds at Silver Cross Hospital. Shortly after it became dark on Monday, someone drove past the victim's house in the 1200 block of Luther Avenue, in the Forest Park area, and shot the victim and sped off.
Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English said at 8:15 p.m., officers responded to the 1200 block of Luther Avenue for a report of a person that had been shot. Upon arrival, the officers located a 33-year-old man who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his body. The victim was taken to Silver Cross Hospital by the Joliet Fire Department with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say they believe the gunfire came from a passing vehicle while the victim stood in front of a residence. Detectives and officers conducted a full canvass of the area, finding numerous spent shell casings in the roadway.
