Shots Fired At Home Inspector, Joliet Police Search For Gunman: JPD
As the victim drove away, the shooter fired several shots at the vehicle, striking it several times.

JOLIET — A robber fired several shots at his fleeing victim Sunday afternoon on the east side of Joliet, Joliet police said.
According to Joliet Police Detective Sgt. Tizoc Landeros, at about 4:30 pm, officers responded to the 100 block of Iowa Street regarding shots being fired and an attempted robbery. The suspect was described as a black male, wearing all black clothing, in his early 20s and approximately 6 feet tall.
This suspect was armed with a handgun, Landeros said. Officers met with the victim, who said he was inspecting a house in the 100 block of Iowa to possibly renovate and purchase.

Prior to going into the house, the victim was approached by the suspect. The suspect told the victim that he would be willing to rent the house from him if he purchased it, Landeros said. The victim agreed to allow the suspect to check out the inside of the residence with him. Once inside, according to police, the suspect brandished a gun and demanded money from the victim.
The victim fled to his vehicle while being chased by the suspect. As the victim drove away, the suspect fired several shots at the vehicle, striking it several times. The suspect fled south on foot from the 100 block of Iowa Street, police said.

Joliet Police drones and K9 were deployed in an attempt to locate the suspect. Will County Sheriff’s Police units assisted in the search for the suspect. The suspect was not found.
