Man Called 911 Six Times In 30 Minutes: Police
Derick Woods, 47, was placed into custody without incident, Joliet police said.

JOLIET — The community at large knows that calling 911 is only meant for real emergencies. However, late last week, Joliet police arrested a 47-year-old man, Derick Woods, after authorities say he made a half dozen 911 calls for phony emergencies.
Joliet police eventually tracked down Woods and took him away in handcuffs. He was processed and released under the SAFE-T-Act on felony charges of disorderly conduct.
According to police spokesman Dwayne English, at 4:02 a.m. April 29, officers responded to the 200 block of Republic Avenue for a report of Woods calling 911 multiple times. Between 3:28 a.m. and 4:04 a.m., Woods called 911 six times, the arrest report showed.
