Suspicious Girlfriend’s Car Window Smashed, Boyfriend Arrested After Fleeing Cops: Police
The girlfriend showed up at Motel 6 because she suspected her lover was cheating on her, police said.

JOLIET, IL — A Joliet man smashed his girlfriend’s car window with a rock when she showed up at the Motel 6 to see if he was cheating on her, then fled from the cops and attacked an officer after he was captured, police said.
The 27-year-old gal pal took a friend along when she went to the Motel 6 on McDonough Street to check up on 25-year-old boyfriend James Davis about 7 a.m. Tuesday, police said. Davis was apparently displeased by this, according to police, as he rushed at the girlfriend’s car as she was preparing to drive away and threw a rock at the window. Davis also allegedly kicked the bumper loose from the car.
The cops showed up and — while an officer was speaking with the girlfriend — Davis got in his car and drove off, despite orders to stop, police said.

Davis’ car, which had a flat tire, didn’t get far, police said, as officers found it with the driver’s side door hanging open two blocks away. Davis, however, was reportedly nowhere to be found.
Davis was later tracked down at the corner of Midland Avenue and Richmond Street, where he was taken into custody, police said.

While he was being driven to the police station, Davis allegedly tried to kick out the squad car’s windows. He failed, police said, but managed to damage security bars inside the car.
The officer pulled over to put shackles on Davis’ legs, police said, but before he could do so, Davis kicked him in the arm, leg and chin.
Davis was taken to the Will County jail. He was scheduled to appear in court Thursday afternoon.
