Teen Shoots At Car, Driver Speeds Off With Broken Window: Cops
A witness told of seeing a teen hanging out a car window to shoot a rifle, police said.

JOLIET, IL — Three teens were arrested after one hung out the window of a moving car to shoot at another vehicle, police said.
Officers spotted a car speeding east over the McDonough Street bridge and pulled it over shortly after 10 a.m. Saturday, police said.
The 32-year-old driver reportedly told officers that someone had shot at him near the corner of Marion and Comstock streets, and the cops did find damage to one of the car’s window.

About the same time, dispatchers received a report of shots fired near the corner of Hunter Avenue and Morgan Street, police said, and a witness told of a teen firing a rifle from a black Chrysler Pacifica.
Officers found the Pacifica parked on Hunter near Morgan and arrested the driver, 18-year-old Manuel Escamilla, police said. Two brother, ages 15 and 17, were reportedly tracked down at a house on Morgan, and the 32-year-old man identified one of them as the shooter. The brothers were also arrested.

The officers determined the rifle was actually a BB gun but did not locate the weapon, police said. The officers did reportedly find BBs inside the Pacifica.
The brothers were taken to River Valley Juvenile Detention Center. Escamilla was released on his own recognizance.
