JOLIET, IL — In one of the largest turnouts for a Joliet business ribbon-cutting ceremony in quite a while, the owners of Joliet's first Tio's Donuts celebrated Thursday's occasion at 125 Collins Street.

Their new donut shop is now seven days a week. It's located on the backside of the sprawling Joliet Central High School campus in the same strip mall as the Subway restaurant. The owners of Tio's Donuts are Telesforo Rosario and Elena Rosario.

At the event, Joliet Patch interviewed Jen Howard, president of the Joliet Region Chamber of Commerce and Garland Mays, who works in the Will County Executive's Office of Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant, as they attended Thursday's celebration, which strives to bring Joliet's downtown business district another high-quality dessert business.
