Urinating In Alley, Suspect Claims He's Armed With Gun: Joliet Police

JOLIET — Joliet police arrested three relatives on Sunday morning following an incident in an east side alley.
Joliet police say Jesus Mayren, 22, of Joliet, was released on a notice to appear on charges of aggravated assault and obstructing a peace officer. Luis Hernandez-Mayren, 29, of Joliet, was arrested on a notice to appear on the charge of obstructing a peace officer.
Third, Erivan Mayren, 23, of Joliet, was released on a Notice to Appear on the charge of assault, however, he went to the Will County Jail for having an outstanding arrest warrant.

Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English at 8:31 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to the 200 block of Mississippi for a gun complaint. The officers learned that a man and woman had arrived in an alley behind their house, and another vehicle with multiple people pulled into the same alley. A man reportedly emerged from the vehicle and began to urinate in the alley.
After the other vehicle honked at the male, later identified as Jesus Mayren, police say he pulled a handgun from his waistband and began to yell at the victims. The victims' vehicle then drove in reverse to exit the alley, at which time police said that Erivan Mayren also exited the suspect vehicle and made motions as if he may be armed, but no handgun was seen.

Officers located the suspect vehicle near Third Avenue and Iowa Street, and Erivian Mayren ran into a nearby home, according to English.
Luis Hernandez-Mayren and Jesus Mayren initially refused to exit the vehicle but were eventually taken into custody. Erivian Mayren returned to the vehicle and was placed into custody. Officers determined that Erivan Mayren held an active Will County warrant for failing to appear in court on previous traffic charges.
