Walgreens Shoplifter On Jefferson Street Had Cocaine: Joliet Police
William Nobles initially used a false name when asked to identify himself, Joliet police advised.

JOLIET— The Joliet police force was responsible for arresting 36-year-old Joliet citizen William Nobles on Sunday night at the Jefferson Street Walgreens in connection with a host of criminal charges.
The police said Nobles is being kept in the Will County Jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance, resisting a peace officer, obstructing identification, criminal trespass and having a Will County arrest warrant and a Kankakee County arrest warrant.

At 8:35 p.m., the officers responded to Walgreens at 2101 West Jefferson for theft. At the Walgreens, the officers encountered Nobles inside of the store and determined he had placed merchandise in his jacket sleeves.
Officers ordered him to remove the merchandise, and he complied. Nobles initially used a false name when asked to identify himself. Officers tried to place Nobles into custody after he further refused to provide his correct name at which time he began to resist the officers but was eventually placed into custody without further incident.

After the officers determined his correct identification, they learned that Nobles held an active Kankakee County warrant and a Will County warrant for failing to appear in court on previous drug and retail theft charges, respectively. Nobles was also found to be in possession of suspected cocaine, English noted.
