Victim Stabbed Because He Smelled 'Possessed' Brother Says: Joliet PD
Joliet citizen Malik Wilson was booked into the Will County Jail on Tuesday by the Joliet police.

JOLIET — Will County's judges continue to utilize the Illinois SAFE-T-Act to keep Joliet citizens accused of violent crimes locked up in the Will County Jail. The latest occurrence happened this week in the courtroom of Judge Carmen Goodman. She denied pretrial release for 27-year-old Joliet citizen Malik Wilson, who was arrested by Joliet police in connection with the non-fatal stabbing of Wilson's brother, who was playing video games, according to court documents.
Will County prosecutors have charged Wilson with two counts of aggravated domestic battery, one aggravated battery and three domestic battery counts. Wilson was booked into the Will County Jail early Tuesday morning.
At St. Joe's hospital, officers learned that Wilson's brother suffered three stab wounds on his back and one deep laceration to his chest that punctured his lung. Officers interviewed the victim, and he told them he was playing video games when Wilson began to stab him in the back. He tried to fight off Wilson and was stabbed in the chest.

"It was self-defense. I've been hearing voices," Wilson told Joliet police during his arrest, prosecutors noted. Wilson also told the officers he is schizophrenic, bipolar and has hallucinations and takes medication for them.
Wilson also told the officers he is connected to various Chicago artists through "a third eye" including rapper G. Herbo, singer Anne Marie and a model named Indian Love, court records point out.
According to prosecutors, Wilson told Joliet police he gets upset with his brother for being around him and he does not want his brother living with him. Wilson also said he blacked out before the stabbing. Wilson told the officers he thought his brother tried to kill him on Monday morning.
"Yes, I would consider that self-defense," Wilson told the officers, according to the petition.
