Wife Stabbed Husband's Hand After Cutting Up His Hat: Cops
The wife claimed she accidentally stabbed her husband while cutting up his hat.

Colette Sheward, 48, confessed to stabbing her husband but claimed she did it accidentally while she was cutting up his hat, police said.
Sheward’s 24-year-old husband drove himself to Presence St. Joseph Medical Center about 1:30 p.m. the day after Christmas. His hand was reportedly wrapped in a rag and bleeding profusely.
The husband explained that he and Sheward were arguing when she grabbed a knife and started cutting up his hat, police said. He then “got a little too close to her and she purposely stabbed his hand.”
The police headed over to the Shewards’ Morgan Street home and spoke with Mrs. Sheward. She reportedly “corroborated everything” her husband said except for the part about stabbing him on purpose.
Sheward was taken to the Will County jail. Her husband’s wound was closed with stitches, police said.
