Autopsy Results Inconclusive in La Grange Man's Death During Triathlon, Memorial Service Announced

Results from an autopsy performed on Monday on he was competing in at Lake Winnebago in Wisconsin were inconclusive, the Chicago Tribune reported.
Regina Behnke, deputy medical examiner in Calumet County, Wis., told the Chicago Tribune that her office is still waiting on more studies, and that it could be several weeks before a ruling is made about the cause of death.

Witmer grew up in Virginia and moved to La Grange from Chicago in 2003. In 2007, he joined energy bar producer Clif Bar, a move that made sense to friends because of Witmer's passion for sports, cycling and the outdoors.
Witmer was an avid cyclist, friends said, who enjoyed both mountain and road biking. He routinely participated in 40-mile bike trips with friends.
A visitation is planned for 1-9 p.m. Thursday, June 21 and 9-11 a.m. Friday, June 22 at , 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Friday's visitation will be followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m., also at Hallowell & James.
The family also requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Witmer Children’s Education Fund at First National Bank of La Grange, 620 W. Burlington Ave.,La Grange.
