Former LGP Village President Susan E. Tutt-Parsons Has Passed Away

Former La Grange Park Village President Susan E. Tutt-Parsons has passed away at 64.

Susan "Susie" Tutt-Parsons, a former, passed away in her home in Wisconsin on Feb. 25.

Formerly a resident of La Grange Park and Westchester, Tutt-Parsons served as a La Grange Park trustee from 1993-2001 and as village president from 2001-2005.

She is remembered as a strong woman with a big personality, and as an active member of the community. In addition to serving in local government, Tutt-Parsons served as president for the  and of the West Cook Country Solid Waste Agency. Tutt-Parsons also served as Director of Development for .

Tutt-Parsons was the recipient of many awards for her service work, including being named Women of the Year in 1993 and Chairman of the Board in 2002 by the West Suburban Chamber of Commerce. She received the West Suburban Chamber of Commerce and Industry Presidents Award in 2005, and was the recipient of the Jack Williams Intergovernmental Achievement Award from W.C.M.C. & the West Cook County Solid Waste Agency in 2005 as well.

At a La Grange Park Village Board meeting on Feb. 28, current Village President Jim Discipio asked for a moment of silence in remembrance.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 2 from 2-8 p.m. and on Saturday, March 3 from 9:45-10:15 a.m. at , located at 9445 W. 31st St., in Brookfield.

A funeral will be held Saturday at 10:15 a.m. at in La Grange with a Mass at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery.
