Kids Cause Mayhem, Man Makes Lewd Gestures: Police Blotter

La Grange police reports, May 7-9.

Thursday, May 9

No driver’s license

Guillermo Cruz-Gomez, 23, of the 6500 block of South Kildare in Chicago, was arrested around 8:55 a.m. near the intersection of 47th Street and Gilbert, La Grange police said. He was charged with driving without a license.

Public urination

Police warned a man who urinated at the corner of La Grange Road and Elm around 1:14 p.m.

Man makes lewd gestures at DiNico's

A man was issued a no trespassing order for DiNico’s after a manager said he made inappropriate sexual gestures to female customers, police said. The man initially refused to leave before the manager called police. Officers found the man down the street at Fannie May. He denied doing anything at DiNico’s.

McDonald's sign damaged

Someone damaged the McDonald’s sign that faces La Grange Road at 100 N. La Grange Road, police said.

Wednesday, May 8

Kids throw wood, tear up flowers

A group of 9- to 10-year-old kids were throwing wood in the street and tearing flowers from peoples’ yards in the 800 block of South 6th Avenue around 8:33 p.m., police said. The kids were gone by the time officers arrived.

A woman was ticketed for loitering outside Q-BBQ, 70 S. La Grange Road, around 9:48 a.m., police said.

Tuesday, May 7

Wallet stolen from car

A wallet was stolen from the center console of a car parked either at Denning Park or outside a house in the 700 block of South 6th Avenue, police said. The car’s window was open at the time of the theft.

Attempted dinner plate theft

Two people tried to steal dinner plates from Santiago’s, 22 W. Calendar Ct., while they were eating outside around 5:30 p.m., police said. The waitress stopped them before they walked away toward La Grange Road. Officers weren’t able to locate them. They haven’t returned to the restaurant since, police said.

Underage smoker

A teen was cited for underage tobacco possession near the intersection of Elm and Leitch around 7:37 a.m., police said.
