La Grange Park Offers Free E-Waste Recycling Oct. 15

The drive will be four hours long and separate from La Grange Park's Community Clean-Up Day.

The Village of La Grange Park’s Community Clean-Up Day isn’t just for old furniture, stained carpet and broken appliances anymore — this year, the village is also collecting used computers, electronic equipment, clothing books and shoes for recycling.

While the regular Community Clean-Up Day is scheduled for Oct. 20, La Grange Park’s E-Waste Recycling Drive is set to take place Oct. 15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Village’s Public Works Facility at 937 Barnsdale Rd.

The event flyer reminds residents that recycling electronic equipment and keeping it out of landfills is important; it’s stipulated in the 2012 Illinois Electronic Products Recycling and Reuse Act that none of the following items can knowingly be mixed with traditional landfill waste:
