May's Brush Pickup Week Starts Monday

Place your trimmed branches and shrubbery on your parkway by 7 a.m. Monday.

It's the perfect time to do some spring cleaning in your garden—it's brush pickup week in La Grange

Place branches and trimmings from your shrubs in your parkway with the cut ends facing the street, no later than 7 a.m. Monday. Brush pickup occurs during the first week of the month from April through November

This pickup is intended for brush that's too big to fit in the regular yard waste bags or or tubs, the village said. While it is meant for larger yard waste, branches must be fewer than eight feet long and eight inches in diameter.

Some guidelines:

  • Keep the brush in a single pile as opposed to several small heaps.
  • Do not tie the brush or put it in a container.
  • The pickup is for cut brush only—so nothing with roots, and leaves or other greenery cannot be mixed in.
  • Be a good neighbor and don't let the brush hang into the street.
  • If you hired someone to do yard work, it's their responsibility to dispose of the branches.

Visit the village's website for more information on brush removal.
