The West Suburban Chamber of Commerce and Industry and AMITA Health present The Regional Health, Wellness and Safety Festival: To keep our community healthy, happy and safe for all ages.

When: Saturday, June 11th, from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Where: The MAX - 4750 S Vernon Avenue, McCook

This FREE Festival will focus on the complete health and life cycle of our region -- mental, physical and financial wellness, along with pet health and safety. Attendees may expect 100+ exhibitor booths, cooking and fitness demos, Kids Zone, Food Court and an exceptional roster of speakers:

The Chicago Bears former running back will share stories of victory and times of struggle, on-going challenges with stuttering, the embrace of a campus community, and standing in faith through his infant daughter’s medical crisis. The four-time consensus All American will share his motivating and inspiring story.

From Dope to Hope - Helping One Addict at a Time

Tim Ryan, Outreach Director for the Banyon Treatment Center and founder of A Man in Recovery Foundation, will address the epidemic of heroin and prescription drug use in our communities. The Countryside Police Department will also be represented to discuss their Overdose Prevention Program with the use of Narcan, the first in Cook County to utilize the program.

You Can't Pour From an Empty Cup: Alzheimer's Disease and Caregiver Stress

Theresa Dewey, Manager Care Navigation and Early-Stage Engagement, Alzheimer's Association, Greater Illinois Chapter, LCPC, ATR will address Alzheimer's disease and caregiver stress. An Alzheimer's disease patient and her caregiver will also participate in the presentation.
