Western Springs Police Reports: Burglary, Underage Drinking

Western Springs Police Department provided crime and arrest information through April 18.

Someone forced entry into an unoccupied home April 13 in the 5700 block of Crestview Drive and stole computer equipment and jewelry with a combined estimated value of more than $ 12,000. The burglary entered the home by breaking a window to an attached garage service door. The burglary reportedly occurred between 9:30 and 10:10 a.m.

Police officers responded to a report of a suspicious car April 15 in the 400 block of Harvey Avenue. Officers saw four people, all male juveniles, in a car parked on the roadway. The arresting officer saw a partially empty case of beer between the legs of the person sitting in the front passenger seat. When the boys got out of the car, officers found a container of vodka behind the driver’s seat. One boy was also found in possession of a small amount of cannabis. The boys were each issued local ordinance citations for possession of alcohol by a minor and one boy was also issued a local ordinance citation for possession of cannabis. Two boys are 17 of Countryside. One boy, age 17, is from La Grange Park and one boy, age 16, is from Western Springs.
