Police Pick Up Teen With Handgun During Traffic Stop

Traffic Stop
Silvia Lopez-Corona, 32, of the 3200 block of Susan Circle, Park City, was charged with driving without a license after she was stopped by police at around 12:06 a.m. Nov. 20, at Deerpath and Green Bay roads for failing to signal. She was released on $1,500 bond, and her court date is set for Dec. 2.
Ruben Ambrosio-Valdez, 25, also 3200 block of Susan Circle, Park City, and a passenger in Lopez-Corona’s car, was taken in to custody when he was discovered with cocaine. He was cited for possession of a controlled substance and released on $120 bond. His court date is Dec. 2.

Driving Under the Influence
John E. Sandner, 73, of the 0-100 block of Moffett Drive, Lake Bluff, was charged with driving under the influence, driving with an expired license and improper lane use after a Nov. 18 accident.
Police responded to a one-car crash that happened when Sandner drove off the roadway in the 1400 block of North Sheridan Road and struck a boulder. At the scene, Sandner failed field sobriety testing and was taken in to custody. He was released on a $3,000 bond, and his court date is Dec. 5.

Accident Gets Out of Hand
Robert S. Lively, 51, of the 2700 block of Yeoman Street, Waukegan, was charged with criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct after a minor traffic accident Nov. 14.
Police responded to a crash at Route 41 and Old Elm Road that had escalated when Lively broke the side window of the other driver’s vehicle. Lively was taken in to custody and released on $120 bond. His court date is Dec. 16.
Illegal Possession of a Handgun
Jose E. Aguirre, 19, 1504 North Park Drive, Round Lake, was charged with possession of a handgun, unlawful use of a weapon and possession of marijuana after the car he was riding in Nov. 11 with three other teens was stopped by police.
An officer stopped a teen driver at about 12:30 a.m., for speeding on Route 41. The driver was cited for speeding, no valid driver’s license and a curfew violation. The two other teen passengers also were cited for curfew violations. All three minors were released to their parents.
Aguirre was taken in to custody when he was discovered with a handgun and pot during the stop. He was released on $1,500 bond.
