Cook County Seeks Volunteers for Full-Scale Emergency Drill in Lemont
A meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday for those interested in joining the Cook County Medical Reserve Corps and participating in a mock-mass antibiotic dispensing plan.

Several Lemont agencies will partner with the Cook County Department of Public Health this year to conduct a full-scale emergency response drill.

Terri O'Neill-Borders, director of community services for Lemont Township, said several agencies—including the , , , and —have been working with the county for nearly a year to develop a plan that would be used during a public health emergency.

The drill—which has yet to be scheduled—is intended to recruit and train medical and non-medical volunteers to assist the Department of Public Health in its emergency response actions.
A meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Lemont Township Community Center, 16300 Alba St. for those interested in joining the reserve corps and learning more about the drill.
