District 113A School Board to Hear from Superintendent Search Firms
The board will hear from two firms, as well as the Illinois Association of School Boards, during a special meeting Tuesday night.

will officially kick off its superintendent search Tuesday night as board members hear presentations from two educational executive search firms.
The District 113A Board of Education will hold special meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the LRC, 16100 W. 127th St. It will be the first meeting held at Old Quarry since board members voted to switch the location to in September.
According to the meeting agenda, the board will hear presentations from executive search firms Proact Search and BWP and Associates, as well as a representative from the Illinois Association of School Boards.

The meeting will mark the first public discussion of the board's superintendent search, which effectively began when current District 113A Superintendent Tim Ricker announced he would be retiring at the end of the 2011-2012 school year. Patch , four days before Ricker's retirement by District 113A board members during their monthly business meeting.
Although Ricker declined to comment on his retirement, District 113A Board Member and official spokesperson Lisa Wright told Patch last month that his decision stemmed from a desire to spend more time with family.

Ricker has served as the superintendent of District 113A since July 2006. Before coming to Lemont, he worked as a teacher and administrator in the Missouri public school system for more than 30 years.
