Fire Damages Front Office Of Auto Shop In Lemont

LEMONT, IL — A fire broke out in the front office of Reed's Automotive Enterprises in Lemont Tuesday morning.

Fire crews were called to 926 Main St. just after 5 a.m. and arrived to find a large fire and an "interior collapse" in the office, a news release said.

Secondary hydrants were employed after firefighters ran into problems with their initial water supplies. After 30 minutes, the fire was contained, but investigators stayed onsite to ensure hotspots were extinguished and to try to identify the cause of the blaze.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
