Lemont Clinches South Suburban Blue Title with Shutout at T.F. North

The Indians (8-0, 5-0) extended their perfect season Friday with a 37-0 win over the Meteors.

Lemont, currently ranked No. 5 in Class 6A, clinched the South Suburban Blue Conference championship Friday with a 37-0 win over T.F. North.

The Indians scored on their first three possessions and five of its first seven, according to the The Times of Northwest Indiana.

Lemont built a 21-0 lead by the first quarter, and led 31-0 at the half.

Running back Mike Anzalone scored the Indians' first three touchdowns, according to The Herald-News. In the second quarter, Christos Giatras scored a 40-yard touchdown and Joe Hehir hit a 24-yard field goal.

Giatras scored again in the third quarter to make it 37-0.

The win, along with Tinley Park's 42-26 loss to T.F. South, clinched the SSC Blue for Lemont.

The Indians will take on conference rival Oak Forest (6-2, 3-2) at 7 p.m. next week at , 800 Porter St.

The will be announced Saturday, Oct. 22, on the "2011 IHSA Football Playoff Pairing Release Show," which will air from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Comcast SportsNet PLUS (CSN+).
