Lemont Police: Bank Robbery Suspect in Custody
A man was taken into custody around 4 a.m. for his suspected involvement in the Lemont National Bank robbery Tuesday, according to Lemont Police Chief Kevin Shaughnessy.

A man suspected of Tuesday night was arrested early Wednesday morning, police said.
Lemont Police Chief Kevin Shaughnessy said a man was taken into custody "without incident" around 4 a.m. — nearly 12 hours after police responded to a robbery at , located at 1201 State St.
Shaughnessy said the department could not release the suspect's name or where he was arrested since the investigation is ongoing. The department is hoping to press formal charges Wednesday or Thursday, he said.

Around 5 p.m. Tuesday, a man described as a white male in his 30s with a slight build and ruddy complexion walked into the bank and handed the teller a note, Shaughnessy said.
The man, who Shaughnessy said was unarmed, left with an undisclosed amount of money.

According to Shaugnessy, the is working with the FBI as they continue to investigate the incident.
