Lemont Residents Win Cook County Tree Decorating Contest

Tracy Henry and Nancy Kuhn's Christmas tree from Puckerville Farms took first place in this year's "Trim the Tree Contest," sponsored by the Cook County Farm Bureau.

A Lemont couple was awarded first place last week in the Cook County Farm Bureau's "Trim the Tree Contest."

Tracy Henry and Nancy Kuhn's Christmas tree from  received 606 votes to beat out 11 other entries in the CCFB program, which promotes the sale of live Christmas trees in Cook County.

The couple's unique tree, dubbed "His and Hers," featured more than just traditional ornaments and lights. Hanging from the branches were things like remote controls, beer cans, wine corks and candy.

Henry and Kuhn received a $250 award for winning the contest, as did Puckerville Farms. The CCFB also donated $250 to the Lemont Food Pantries on the couple's behalf.
