Lemont Woman, 24, Killed In Lake County Crash

The Lake County Coroner's Office has identified the woman killed in the early Tuesday collision in Mundelein.

MUNDELEIN, IL — A 24-year-old woman killed in a two-vehicle crash in Mundelein has been identified as Hannah Lebert of Lemont.

The crash happened at about 1:05 a.m. Tuesday when a Acura sedan headed south on Route 45 at University Drive lost control, crossing over the center median wall and colliding with a semi head-on, according to a news release from a Mundelein Police Department.

Rescue crews extricated the woman, who was identified Tuesday as Lebert, from the vehicle. Lebert was taken to Condell Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

The driver of the semi, a 44-year-old man, was taken to Condell Medical Center for treatment of injuries that are not considered life-threatening. Results from an autopsy show Lebert died from blunt force injuries as a result of a crash, according to the Lake County Coroner's Office.

Authorities believe speed was a factor in the crash, and the cause of the collision remains under investigation.
