My friend Dan Patlak is running for re-election to the Cook County Board of (Tax) Review in the upcoming March 20 Republican primary. In the 14 months since Dan was sworn into office he has followed through with the commitments he made to the public, including his promise to be the first ever full time commissioner at the Board.

Due to Dan’s efforts we can now appeal our assessment’s on-linefrom the comfort of our own homes. The Board is more transparent because they produced their first Annual Report, which details the Board’s operations, budget, and statistics on appeals and success rates.

Dan has conducted more than 65 Assessment Appeal Seminars—including several in Lemont—which have aimed to educate the public about the property tax system in general and about their rights to appealt heir assessments.

I know Commissioner Patlak personally and can testify to his honesty and integrity. Please join me in voting for a good public servant, Dan Patlak.

Paul Chialdikas
