Man, 45, Dies After Jumping From I-355 Bridge In Lemont: ISP

LEMONT, IL –A 45-year-old Addison man died after jumping from the I-355 overpass in Lemont late Wednesday night, Illinois State Police said Friday.

David A. Ortega was pronounced dead just after 3 a.m. Thursday in the marsh area under the southbound I-355 bridge at mile post 10.5, the Will County Coroner's Office said.

Illinois State Police were called to the overpass around 11:30 p.m. for a report of a man standing on the edge. A trooper arrived on scene, and witnessed the man—later identified as Ortega—jump off the bridge.
