Man With Two Active Arrest Warrants Taken Into Custody In Lemont: Police
Sims was wanted in connection with an incident, in which he fled from officers in a vehicle, police said.
LEMONT, IL — A 40-year-old man with two active arrest warrants was taken into custody on Thursday in Lemont, according to a release from Lemont Police.
Police said officers responded to a home in the 800 block of Hillview Drive at 3:40 p.m. Thursday to take Quartney Sims, 40, into custody. Sims was wanted in connection with an incident, in which he fled from officers in a vehicle, police said.
Sims also had two active arrest warrants issued by other jurisdictions.

When police arrived at the home, officers saw Sims inside. Police said that despite repeated attempts to make contact at the door, he refused to respond. Officers then communicated via phone, during which Sims stated he would not exit the residence voluntarily.
"Demonstrating professionalism and patience, Lemont officers remained on scene until a family
member arrived and was able to persuade Sims to surrender without further incident," police said.

Sims was taken into custody and transported to the Lemont Police Department. Charges are currently pending further investigation.
