Monday is Casimir Pulaski Day in Illinois. The holiday is observed in remembrance of the Polish-born calvary officer who trained American soldiers during the Revolutionary War. Pulaski Day is celebrated on the first Monday of every March, primarily in areas with large Polish populations.
and are both closed today in honor of the holiday. Lemont-Bromberek Combined School District 113A, St. Alphonsus/St. Patrick's School and Everest Academy will remain open, along with the Lemont Public Library, Village Hall and the U.S. Postal Service.
3. State of the Village Address
The ninth annual State of the Village address will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at , 1 Pete Dye Drive. The event, sponsored by the , will include remarks from Mayor Brian Reaves on current and future village plans and projects. Tickets may be purchased through the Chamber office at 630-257-5997.

4. Relay for Life Kick-Off Event
Relay for Life of Lemont/Homer Glen at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 13, at Centennial Community Center, 16028 W. 127th St. For more information, check out or visit the event's official website.
5. Income Tax Preparation at Lemont Library
The is currently hosting trained volunteers from AARP to assist elderly residents with income tax preparation. Appointments will be taken between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays. To reserve a time, call 630-257-6591 or visit www.lemontlibrary.org.
