No Relationship Between 2 People Found Dead In Lemont Motel: Police

LEMONT, IL — Police do not believe there was any relationship between two people who were found dead at a Lemont motel on Thursday, police told Patch on Monday.

Lemont police officers were called to the D-Lux Budget Inn, 12241 Archer Ave., around 9:30 a.m. on Thursday. A 24-year-old woman was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds, police said.

As police were taping off the scene, officers saw a bullet hole in an adjacent room, and entered the room to find a man, identified as 62-year-old Richard Crane, dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.

An investigation showed that the gun Crane used to take his own life was also used in the woman's death, a news release from the department said.

No motive is yet known for the killing; police continue to investigate the incident.
