Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Train In Downtown Lemont: Police
Lemont police said the incident happened Saturday afternoon near Stephen and Main streets.
LEMONT, IL — Lemont police are investigating after a person was fatally struck by a train in downtown Lemont on Saturday afternoon.
According to police, the incident happened near Stephen and Main streets. Police said it appeared to be accidental.
Police told WGN that a 47-year-old woman was killed in the incident. A spokesperson for Amtrak said the woman was "trespassing on the track" when she was hit, WGN reported.
