Police Search for Lemont National Bank Robber
Chief Kevin Shaughnessy confirms State Street branch was robbed around 5 p.m. Tuesday. Offender is described as a white male in his 30s, with a slight build and ruddy complexion.
The State Street branch of was robbed Tuesday evening, according to police.
Multiple witnesses reported seeing officers and police dogs descending on the bank, 1201 State St., around 5 p.m. Lemont Police Chief Kevin Shaughnessy confirmed the incident, but declined to provide any further details.
Police are currently looking for the offender, who is described as a 5-foot-5, white male in his 30s, with a slight build and ruddy complexion, Shaughnessy said.

The offender was wearing a dark jacket, camouflage pants, a dark ski hat and dark gloves, he said.
Catherine Stukel of Lemont said she was leaving salon at around 5 p.m. when she saw several squad cars, including K-9 units, arrive at the bank.

At 5:30 p.m., multiple Lemont and Cook County police cars were on the scene with officers roping off the area surrounding the bank.
