Vande Veldes, Area Cyclists Enjoy 'Tour de Lemont'

Former Olympic cyclists John and Christian Vande Velde hosted a 20-mile, Olympic-caliber ride on Saturday to bring awareness to Lemont's bicycle accommodations.

About four dozen area cyclists hit the road with Olympians John and this weekend for the first ever "Tour de Lemont."

The event, which started and ended Saturday morning in Talcott Square, was a 20-mile, Olympic-caliber ride designed by John Vande Velde for Chicago's 2016 Olympic bid. The route went through Lemont's downtown area and various neighborhoods throughout the village.
