What Should Fill the Lemont Sears Building?

When Sears Appliance and Hardware , Patch readers immediately took to our comment section to offer suggestions for filling the vacant space.

Sears opened at 1146 State St. in 1996, and closed in November. When contacted by Patch in August, company officials declined to provide any details beyond their decision to not renew the lease.

After five months, there's still no official word on any businesses interested in the space.

In our new weekly series, "Visions for Vacancies," we're asking Lemont residents what businesses they would like to see fill the vacant storefronts around town.

Whether it's another hardware store or something completely new, we want to hear what businesses you'd most like to see take over the old Sears building.
