Whiz Kids: I Flip 'n' Dance Gymnasts

Each week, Lemont Patch will seek suggestions from readers for individual kids, youth groups, teens and even sports teams that wow us with their accomplishments.

And without further ado, this week's Whiz Kids are...

Names: Olivia Mattila (Woodrige), Alayna Karl (Lemont), Tenleigh Vedok (Lemont), Daleigh Johnson (Lemont), Audrey Rodriguez (Indiana), Mary Vermejan (Lemont), Trudy Davis (Woodridge), Morgan Mattila (Woodridge), Zainah Azar (Naperville) and Margo Burke (Lemont) 

Levels: 4-10 

Whiz Kids' Accomplishment: On Feb. 25 and 26, the I Flip 'n' Dance level 4-10 gymnasts competed in the Midwest Open in Tinley Park. The girls performed extremely well, many finishing with top scores.

• Olivia Mattila (Woodrige) and Alayna Karl (Lemont) both took first place in the all-around standings for the first time. Alayna placed first in every event with an all-around of 36.525

• Level 5 Tenleigh Vedok (Lemont) placed fourth all-around

• Level 4 Daleigh Johnson (Lemont) placed seventh all-around

• Level 7 Audrey Rodriguez (Indiana) placed sixth all-around

• Level 7 Mary Vermejan (Lemont) placed sixth all-around 

• Level 7 Trudy Davis (Woodridge) placed sixth all-around

• Level 7 Morgan Mattila (Woodridge) placed 12th all-around

• Level 9 Zainah Azar (Naperville) placed ninth all-around

• Level 10 Margo Burke (Lemont) placed fifth all-around

The team will travel to Holland, MI, this weekend to compete in the Tulip City Invite.
