With Record Number of Volunteers, Lemont High School Prepares for Free Heart Screenings
Students are eligible to receive free screenings March 1 through the Midwest Heart Foundation's Young Hearts for Life program. Deadline to register is Monday.

students still have time to register for a free heart screening through the Midwest Heart Foundation's Young Hearts for Life program.
The screenings will take place Thursday on the Lemont High School campus, and are available to all students whose parents or guardians authorize them to be tested. The deadline to sign up was Friday, Feb. 24, but school officials have extended registration through the end of the day Monday.
According to District 210 officials, Lemont set a Midwest Heart Foundation record for the number of volunteers signed up to assist with the screenings.

The Midwest Heart Foundation in a non-profit organization that provides free electrocardiograms (EKG or ECG), as well as echocardiograms. The screenings help identify students who may be at risk for sudden cardiac death.
More than 65,000 students have been screened since the founding of the Young Hearts for Life program in 2006.

The screenings at Lemont High School were made possible "through the support of generous donors," District 210 officials said.
How to Register for Screenings
Parents/guardians may register their children for the screenings online by visiting www.lhs210.netand clicking the “Young Hearts for Life Cardiac Screenings” page, which is located under the “Athletics” tab.
