Soulful All-saxophone Ensemble Makes Sweet Sounds

A lively, all-sax group will play beautiful music in a beautiful setting.

The Solaire Quartet will perform a Morton Arboretum Chamber Concert at 2:15 p.m. March 6 at the arboretum, 4100 Route 53, just north of I-88, Lisle.

The Solaire Quartet will play a diverse repertoire, to fulfil its goal of bringing a culturally-rich program to a wide audiences. Members of this virtuosic saxophone ensemble have performed across the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia as soloists, and Chicago and international orchestras.

“Their music is surprising and engaging. This will be an exceptional
concert to close our season,” said Rita Hassert, arboretum chamber concert organizer. She said the program will include works by George Frideric Handel (1685-1759), Astor Piazzolla (1921-1992) and David Maslanka (born 1943).

Concert tickets are $28 per person; arboretum members receive discounts. Order tickets by calling 630-725-2066.

All concerts begin at 2:15 p.m. in the Thornhill Education Center
auditorium. A reception follows each performance in the Founder's
Room, where the audience has a chance to mingle with the musicians.
