Cops Increase Patrols In Lisle Ahead Of New Year's Eve

Drivers are likely to see more officers patrolling as part of the village's winter holiday traffic safety campaign.

LISLE, IL — Drivers in Lisle are likely to see more squad cars patrolling the streets as part of the village's holiday traffic safety campaign.

During the safety campaign, which kicked off Dec. 15, police will be on the lookout for drivers who are impaired by alcohol, weed and other intoxicants. Police suggest following these tips to help ensure safer travel this holiday season:

  • Find a designated sober driver
  • Use a rideshare service or call a cab
  • Take public transportation
  • Do not let friends drive impaired
  • Report impaired drivers by calling 911

“Driving while impaired has a substantial effect on a driver’s judgment, coordination, reaction time, and concentration. Simply put, it’s dangerous, and that’s why we make zero exceptions and arrest all impaired drivers,” Lisle Police Kevin Licko said in a statement.
