Lisle's Wheatstack Restaurant, Bar To Close Permanently On Sunday

LISLE, IL — A popular Lisle restaurant known for its Midwest cuisine and a space to celebrate good times and meaningful milestones will serve its last meal and rounds of drinks this weekend after announcing that it will be closing permanently to start 2024.

Wheatstack, which is located in the clubhouse at River Bend Golf Club, announced in a social media post that it will close after opening for business for the final time on Sunday. The eatery’s management wrote in the post that the decision to shutter operations comes with a heavy heart.

“We are truly grateful for your loyalty and appetite over our years in business,” the post on Instagram reads. “We couldn’t have reopened the restaurant after the pandemic without the support of our returning guests and devoted community.”

The Lisle Park District, which operates the clubhouse at the golf course which is located at 5900 Route 53, said it will be considering next steps for the building in the coming weeks. In a post, the park district said that the restaurateurs made the difficult decision to cease operation of Wheatstack after Sunday.

The park district said that the restaurant and bar will remain open for business through Sunday before closing its doors Monday. Park District officials thanked Todd Shamberg and his team for all of their hospitality over the years. The park district also offered the group the “best in health and happiness” in their future endeavors.

But the restaurant’s management said that despite its decision to close, it cherishes all of the memories made in the space over the years.

“We are beyond humble to have been a place where many celebrated milestones in their lives, met with friends, dined with family, and shared meaningful conversations and cherished moments with one another,” the restaurant management wrote in the Instagram post.

“From the bottom of our hearts to you and yours, thank you.”
