Morton Arboretum Illumination Makes USA Today Top 10 Holiday Lights List

LISLE, IL — The Morton Arboretum recently landed in the top 10 of a USA Today national list for its annual Illumination: Tree Lights holiday display.

The exhibit was named among the "Top 10 Best Botanical Garden Holiday Lights" in the country. According to arboretum officials, this is the third time "Illumination: Tree Lights" landed in the USA Today roundup.

To be considered, a display must be nominated by a panel that includes editors from USA Today. Reader votes determine the final selections that will be included in the top 10 roundups.

"llumination continues to be a standout holiday experience, drawing national recognition for its fresh take on holiday light displays, where the trees themselves are the main attraction, not just the lights,” Amy Scott, the head of exhibitions at Morton Arboretum," said in a statement.

In its article, USA Today wrote, "While walking along the ADA-accessible mile-long path, visitors can also enjoy fireside warmth, roast marshmallows for s'mores, and stop for concessions, then have dinner while viewing a laser-light finale from the Ginkgo Restaurant."

This year's Illumination: Tree Lights exhibit features 17 twinkling displays, including a glade lit by fairy lights and trees that illuminate when you hug them. The display is open through Jan. 4, 2025.
