• Applicants Sought For New Police Commander Roles In Lisle (patch.com) — Lisle residents now have a chance to see new leadership roles created within their own police department, as the village restructures ranks and opens applications for two commander positions. The new roles, which sit just below deputy chief, are open to qualified sergeants from Lisle or other Illinois departments through Dec. 21 and come alongside added sergeant positions.
   

• Fermilab and Proficio launch water treatment system to combat PFAS (innovationnewsnetwork.com) — A Lisle-based engineering firm, Proficio Consultancy, is teaming up with Fermilab to build a high-tech water treatment system aimed at breaking down PFAS “forever chemicals.” Their modular skid will integrate with a compact electron beam accelerator, potentially paving the way for scalable solutions communities could use to clean contaminated water supplies.
